Multicultural Queensland — making a world of difference was released in 2004. It was superseded in 2011.
As a policy, it promoted social justice and equity for non-English speaking communities and newly arrived refugees and migrants.
The policy underpinned community cohesion by raising awareness of the benefits of diversity and promoted respect for difference.
Each Queensland Government agency developed action plans to identify key priorities and outcomes that they would deliver.
Under the policy an annual highlights report was published outlining the key achievements of Queensland Government agencies in implementing the policy.
